Classes and Workshops

Abundant vitality is what we all strive for….that gets up and go spirit that makes life much easier and so much more fun!

Along with diet, exercise is one of the vital components in helping us acquire more energy and ongoing vigor. A prime aspect of therapies offered at Sherwood revolves around physical exercise. All workshop sessions are tailored to suit your individual health needs. We specialize in prescribing exercises that would take into account any specific health issues and still achieve your goals (improve fitness, stamina, core muscle strength, and flexibility, help to lose weight ).  All workshops and classes are carried out in our well-equipped gym with changing and shower facilities.

The classes are small (5-6 people) and are carried out under the guidance and supervision of a chartered Specialist Physiotherapist as well as fully qualified Pilates and yoga instructors.

It is possible to attend sessions individually. You will be offered one-to-one support from a physiotherapist during individual sessions.

Workshops

Under the inspiring guidance of our experienced professionals, you will discover new ways to exercise and expand your fitness horizons. Some of the workshops we offer at Sherwood are:

Heart Smart

This is a unique therapeutic program for people with angina, heart attack, bypass surgery, angioplasty, and valve repair/replacement. It is a cardiac rehabilitation program tailored for individual needs and supports you in making those lifestyle changes when needed most!

Breathe Easy

This is a rehabilitation program for people suffering from respiratory conditions like bronchitis, emphysema, hyperventilation, and asthma. It aims to build up endurance and stamina.

Fitness & Stamina

Supervised exercise workshops designed especially for patients with musculoskeletal conditions. Exercise sessions conducted under the guidance of experienced physiotherapists. Sessions offer a variety of exercise options ranging from the use of a fully equipped Gym to exercises with the use of minimal equipment.

HealthWise

This program aims at achieving fitness and stamina for the older adults who may have underlying health condition e.g. high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, spondylosis, chronic pain.

Antenatal and Postnatal care

These programs are designed to enhance and optimize health during pregnancy and after birth. Both you and your partner will be able to participate in these practical and educational sessions which are led by a highly experienced midwife and a physiotherapist.

Antenatal physiotherapy, yoga, and Pilates sessions are also available.

Therapeutic Yoga

This session is led by a fully qualified British Wheel of Yoga teacher and is aimed to improve flexibility, core muscle strength, stamina and to induce relaxation. Yoga exercises and breathing techniques are designed to assist the management of YOUR health problem.

Pilates for Health

Led by a fully qualified Pilates instructor, this program targets the deep postural muscles and works by building strength from the inside out, rebalancing, and correcting the body alignment.

With advanced audiovisual aids, workshops and individual sessions are interactive.

Shower facilities are provided.
