Why Pilates at The Sherwood Clinic?

At The Sherwood Clinic, We offer Pilates as both one to one sessions as well in a small group set up. Complimentary consultation by a physiotherapist is offered before joining the Pilates class. The physiotherapist will ask you to fill in an enrolment form giving details of any injuries or conditions. This information is passed on to the Pilates instructor. This ensures that specific tailor-made Pilates exercises are offered to every individual and relevant exercises are taught to create a more balanced or injury-free body. You will be taught good movement skills step-by-step, which will ultimately give you the strength and flexibility in recovering from your injury. Our classes do not only focus on teaching the range of exercises to our clients but are renowned for their attention to detail and the ability to cater to the needs of each client.

Both the Pilates teacher and physiotherapist will provide you with feedback about your exercises so that you are getting the most out of your program every time.

Pregnancy Pilates

During pregnancy, in order to facilitate the growth of your baby, the hormones act upon your system. This can cause weakness of the core abdominal and pelvic floor muscles. these muscles would be stretched in order to facilitate childbirth. The Pilates session has a particular focus on core stability and pelvic floor training, the muscles you need to support your growing baby, and your changing body.
