Initial Ayurveda consultation (60 minutes)
Sherwood Ayurveda offers an in-depth consultation based on Ayurvedic diagnostic methods taking into account assessing your current health status. Your medical tests and diagnosis are considered and a detailed management plan is offered to improve or restore your health and well being. This can include in depth advice on life style including detailed dietetic plans, physical activity, recommendations of Ayurvedic spices and herbs, specific food recipes, healing Ayurveda treatments, Yoga and relaxation techniques.
Follow up consultation (45 minutes)
These are individualized to address and clarify issues, further dietetic modification, yoga or other exercise and posture routine and progression of Ayurveda therapies.

Pinda sweda (Herbal poultice massage)
A strengthening and nourishing massage using cotton poultice filled with selected herbs or specially prepared rice bolus. The desired effect is sudation to help alleviate muscle and joint pain and strains. (90 minutes)
A full body massage using herb infused oils (55 minutes)
Abhyanaga with Bashpa sweda (massage and full body steam)
A full body relaxing and rejuvenating massage using Āyurvedic oils followed by whole body steam (90 minutes)
Sthanic Abhyanaga with Nadi sweda (local massage with steam)
Massage to a joint or specific body area using Āyurvedic oils followed by steam therapy to the affected part. Effective in arthritis of shoulder, knee, spine. ( 90 minutes)
Udvartana (herbal powder massage)
A full body invigorating massage using Āyurvedic herbs to help remove excess cellulite, improves circulation and aids weight reduction. (55 minutes)
Prishthabhyanga (Back massage)
Back, neck and shoulder massage to relieve pain and muscle strain and induce relaxation.(45 minutes)
Padabhayanga (foot massage)
A calming foot massage, concentrating on specific marma points, to revitalise the entire body (45 minutes)
Hasta Abhyanga – Hand Massage
A calming hand massage to relieve build up of tension resulting from excessive use of keyboard, repetitive strain injury (30 mins)
Nabhi abhyanaga (Abdominal massage)
Nabhi ( naval centre) is considered to be of special importance according to Ayurveda. Disturbances caused here can affect the individual both physically and emotionally. Nabhi abhyanga aims to correct this massaging warm herb infused oils followed by stretches. The massage also helps to tone the abdominal organs and assist in weight loss around the stomach area.( 45 minutes)
Shiro Abhyanga (Head massage)
A massage of the head and neck to nourish the scalp and stimulate hair follicles. Specific strokes are used to both stimulate circulation as well as induce deep relaxation. A head massage helps to balance the central nervous system and promotes clarity. It can help in the relief of headaches, migraines, premature greying of hair, hair loss dry scalp, itching and promote better sleep. (30 minutes)
Mukhabhayanga (facial massage)
Gentle yet revitalising face massage with use of specific oils focussing on marma points around the face. By inducing circulation, mukhabhyanga improves the lustre and complexion and promotes relaxation (45 minutes) It works extremely well with Shiro Abhyanga.
Akshi Tarpana (Eye therapy)
A relaxing and nourishing treatment for the eyes using a medicated eye bath followed by medicated oil/ghee retained in a reservoir made over the eyes. This therapy has a cooling effect on fatigued, irritated and stressed eyes and helps to prevent degeneration (45 minutes)
Nasya (Errhine therapy)
A gentle facial massage is followed by facial steam therapy and application of warm Āyurvedic herbal oils through the nose. Ayurveda considers nasal passage to be the gate to the brain. Nasya therapy is highly effective in migraine, sinusitis, sleep. It is also used as an adjunct to systemic disorders and neurological conditions.
